Matthew McConaughey saved baby seal while he was surfing in Malibu, Calif. this weekend. According to AZCentral, McConaughey spotted the baby seal on the beach and some kids were poking it with a stick. Quick thinking McConaughey went up to the kids and tried to explain that the young seal pup wasn't dead nor had it beached itself unintentionally.

"Matthew told the kids the seal wasn't hurt, it was resting and sunning itself - and that young pups do this all the time while the mother seal's swim close by until they are ready to re-enter the sea," said a source.

Matthew McConaughey essentially rescued the baby seal from being bothered by the kids. According to the source, the kids weren't even interested in an autograph or a picture from McConaughey, likely because they thought they were getting in trouble. He reportedly made the kids feel "anxious" but he really was just trying to explain the situation to them.

McConaughey often surfs in the warm waters off the Cali. coast. He has also been spotted with his wife, Camila, and their children, Levi, Vida, and Livingston, walking the beach and enjoying the outdoors. That has always been "his thing" as evidenced by his clothing line, JKL.
