I interview a lot of rising stars, singer/songwriters and great talented people and I love it. Once in a while an artist and a song come along that just blow you away. Matt Williams’s song, “Make Love Tonight,” is one of those songs. I told him I wished that I had written it. We sat down to talk about this new single he co-wrote with Alyssa Morrissey and two other writers, his upcoming CMA Festival appearance in Nashville in June and what the future holds. I asked him this:

Q So, man I have a lot of things to talk to you about. I hear May 12th you are releasing, “Make Love Tonight?”

A That is correct, me and Alyssa are pretty pumped to release this song to U.S. radio and iTunes. We actually started working on this song back in August of last year. We were just jamming and I had the chorus idea rolling around in my head and then we started working together a little bit. That was back in the studio in November, December and we finally recorded it which was awesome. We loved the way it turned out and we are pretty excited about how people will warm up to it.

Q Yeah, it’s a great song.

A Thank you. Thanks. So initially I had the chorus idea and Alyssa came in and also brought in an amazing songwriter out of Alberta, Canada, Doug Folkins and he kind of added some parts to the second verse there and the chorus. When we got into the studio, our producer Adam Newcomb added a bit of lines to it too. We are pretty pumped about it. We love playing it and hopefully it is going to do really well.

I told him this song has what it takes to go all the way to the top. I wished him luck with the song which is being released on May 12th. I personally think this is a hit song and I am honored that I was furnished a copy of the song so I could hear it before it was released. Matt and Alyssa will be doing a showcase at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville on June 5th at 6:00 p.m., and they will be signing autographs at the CMA Festival on June 6th and 7th. More dates and appearances are currently being confirmed. Make sure to be watching
