Matt Wilhelm doesn’t mind showing off his BMX moves. On America’s Got Talent the Youtube contestants showed what it takes to use a BMX for tricks. The Tuesday performance was a great introduction to Wilhelm’s world and it could be best described as break dancing on a bike in the dark.
The BMX medal winner and World champion isn't your typical BMX rider, as the high profile rider found his profession at the local racetrack where he was bullied by the locals and refused to let him race. Switching from racing to flatland, the man found trips to be a way to win competitions and still be part of the scene.
The performance that won his a spot on stage shared Matt using his BMX in the dark and moving it with grace and ease. At one point during the video, the bike looks like it is performing by itself as the rider moves effortlessly.
America will decide if Matt Wilhelm will be part of the semifinals after the phone open and the audience is encouraged to vote. With 12 acts to choose from, along with the bike acts previously seen, Wilhelm might find it tough to capture one of the four spots on Wednesday night. All he will need is support from his fans and lots of phone calls. The results will be revealed on the one hour elimination show slated for tomorrow night.
