The bow tie-wearing Time Lord will embark on a whole new adventure in space and time: the apocalyptic future of the Terminator movie franchise. Terminator and Doctor Who fans alike can all rejoice at the upcoming final addition to the Terminator trilogy which will be casting Matt Smith as a major role. Matt Smith, or the ‘Eleventh Doctor’, from BBC’s Doctor Who television series has been confirmed to be in the Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions’ final major piece of the Terminator films. The studio has reported that Matt Smith’s role will be a new character with a strong connection to the techno-messianic, John Connor.
A shroud of mystery as to what Matt’s character will be like still remains. The roles of Connor’s father, Kyle Reese, and Miles Dyson’s son Danny have already been cast, so those options aren't valid. Matt could be anyone, human or otherwise, beyond those possibilities.
The familiar roles from the 1984 movie franchise of Sarah Connor and her son John Connor will be done by Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke, who do not have any relation to each other. The ever famous Arnold Schwarzenegger will even return to the role of the Terminator. Schwarzenegger played the robot assassin of the title role which led to a huge demand for more follow ups due to the cult-like dedication from fans. July 1, 2015, Terminator: Genesis will hit theaters.
