One of the best contemporary blues guitarists in the world, Matt Schofield is set to play The Hamilton, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 8:30PM. Doors open at 6:30PM. Schofield won the British Blues Awards Guitarist of the Year in 2010 and 2011. He is no stranger to the area playing The Western Maryland Blues Festival in Hagerstown, Maryland twice. Matt Schofield is a bright spot for blues guitar. He is definitely not a guitarist to miss.
Guitar and Bass Magazine already puts Matt Schofield among the top 10 British Blues guitarists of all time. Quite an accomplishment since Eric Clapton and Peter Green are on that same list. He has recorded four studio albums and released three live albums in his career since 2004. Tickets are $18 for the show and can be ordered on the venue’s website. The Hamilton offers a full restaurant, a fully stocked bar and so of the best music in Washington. The website will also provide information on Metro, parking, menus, and other shows as well. The venue is intimate one with room for only 450 people.
