Matt Schaub rumors have the Houston Texans sticking with him as the starting quarterback. The Texans will start Schaub against the St. Louis Rams in Week 6, giving him what could presumably be his last chance to keep that starting roll. According to a report from ESPN on Wednesday (Oct. 9), the decision did not come easily to head coach Gary Kubiak.
Speaking about his thoughts on the situation, Kubiak stated, "Tough decision. Real tough. I feel like it's the best thing for our football team this weekend and so there was a lot of thought put into it, a lot of evaluations."
This comes just days after he threw three interceptions against the San Francisco 49ers, including one that was taken all the way back for a touchdown. That marked the first time in NFL history that a quarterback had given up interceptions that resulted in touchdowns during four consecutive games. The last three have caused the Texans to lose, dropping the team to just 2-3 on the season so far.
The Matt Schaub rumors aren't going to stop just because he has the head coach behind him. For fantasy football owners sticking with him, this is actually a good match-up against the Rams. He should at least get close to 300 yards passing and two touchdowns, but the risk is now there that another bad game could take place. He is on the cusp of being a top 10 quarterback during Week 6 with those projections though.
