In this version of calling out names, a silent Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is fed up with his critics taking shots at him, and hes not going to take it anymore.
Even after winning his first playoff game leading the Texans past the Bengals in a 19-13 victory, still not enough for some critics especially those who write for the Boston Globe.
As the Texans prepare for their next opponents in the New England Patriots and avoid the same blow out loss they suffered back on December 10th.
Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy said boldly that the Patriots were the only team to have two bye weeks this season, referring to the Texans. He went on to say that the Tebow led Broncos who made the playoffs last year, were better than this Texans team and Matt Schaub.
That fired up the Texans QB, enough to speak out on a local Houston radio station AM 610.
We don't care about that, its someone's opinion, its motivation and we're going get ready for them. We going to play a football game and give the Pats everything they can handle," said Schaub. He went on to say, "We're going to win a game on the road!"
"It doesn't matter what some writer up there says, whether anyone picks us or not, but none of that stuff effects us on the field," a fired up Schaub said about what other think of his team.
This may be just the motivation they need to go into Foxboro and defeat the Patriots. If they have learned anything, they need to obtain a copy of that film where the San Francisco 49ers played the Patriots and defeated them. Not only the fact they defeated them, but most importantly how they defeated them.
Houston has all of the tools they need to defeat the mighty Tom Brady and company, but they have to believe it and execute it on Sunday.
The Texans are 9.5 point underdogs to the Pats.
If the Texans are smart, they will spread the offense and run a bunch of trick plays that will outsmart Bill Belichick.
Know when playing the Patriots, it's not just football, it's chess.
