Self admitted to "not be a one for causes", singer/songerwiter Matt Ryd,found a great cause to lend his voice to-announcing his plan to donate proceeds from sales of his CD this week to the National Eating Disorder Association, a cause Ryd really believes in.
Posted in a recent blog entry, Ryd makes the heartfelt announcement.
Taken from the blog entry, read the entire entry here:
The fact is, none of that could be further from the truth. Eating disorders affect people of all ages, of all genders, and of all sizes. And they affect the friends and families of those who suffer. And as more people who realize that, and realize that an eating disorder is a serious disease, it helps to lessen the stigma. And as the stigma decreases, it makes it more possible for those who suffer to come forward and seek help, and possibly save themselves and their loved ones from further years of torment.
I’ll step off of my soapbox now, but suffice it to say that this is a subject that is very near and dear to my heart, and one that I believe in very strongly. Therefore, in the interest of both raising awareness, and in actually turning words into action, every single dollar collected from sales of my CD on my webstore this week will be donated to the National Eating Disorder Association.(NEDA) That means that if you buy my CD for $10, you get the digital download immediately, a physical CD shipped to you in the mail (shipping is included in the price), and the knowledge that all ten of your dollars are going to a very worthy cause. I’m covering any PayPal fees, because I want to promise you that every last penny you spend is going to be donated.
Eating disorders are bad. All money collected from CD sales this week will be donated to help fight against them. This is something that I strongly believe in, I would love your help in raising money for a worthy cause.
Purchase your copy of Looking For Home here this week. NEDA Awarness week extends from February 20-26th.
