Matt Ryan is out of the 2013 Pro Bowl. After a hard hitting NFC Champion game vs. the 49ers on Sunday, Ryan has decided to sit this one out, and who can blame him.
According to NBC, Falcons head coach Mike Smith said Monday that Ryan suffered a sprained AC joint in his left (non-throwing shoulder), according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
It's being reported that Ryan will need 3-4 weeks to recover from the strain, but you know if the Falcons had made the Super Bowl they would have found a way to get the veteran passer on the field.
Of course you can't compare the NFL title game to a meaningless exhibition, but the main concern for Ryan and Falcons fans is getting their QB healthy for 2013.
With Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Washington's Robert Griffin III already out of the 2013 Pro Bowl, Eli Manning (Giants) and Drew Brees (Saints) will taking their places.
You can also add Patriots QB Tom Brady to the walking wounded that won't be suiting up in the All-Star football game. ESPN Boston is reporting that Brady is out due to an injury and will be replaced by Colts rookie Andrew Luck.
The 2013 Pro Bowl takes place this Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
