NBC has announced that they have cast Matt Ryan as the lead character Constantine in the new upcoming pilot for a potential new fall series.

Matt Ryan is famous for his voice acting for "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's" character Edward Kenway and as lead character Mick Rawson on CBS' "Criminal Minds" spinoff series, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior."

The NBC pilot is based on the DC comic book "Constantine". The main character, John Constantine was a very dark character into the occult. He was a British magician, a con man, and very much an anti hero. He is described as a cynic that is foul mouthed and disillusioned. He constantly interacts with both heaven and hell and it is always an adventure.

In 2005, Warner Brothers released a theatrical version of "Constantine" with Keanu Reeves as John Constantine.

There is no word as to whether this pilot will make it off the ground but this show could really bring more interest in the supernatural.
