Matt Light’s Favorite Jalapeno Almonds Recipe

Are you ready for some football? This Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons play the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC title, and more importantly for Boston, the New England Patriots take on the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC Conference title. The winners of each game will be moving on to New Orleans to play in Super Bowl XLVII on February 3! Since this weekend and in a couple of weeks, Super Bowl is coming up, it is time to start planning the menu for all the delicious sweet and salty snacks to enjoy while watching.

Whether you are staying in and watching the games with your family or hosting a large party, make the games memorable with tasty food and drinks. The recipe included below is from newly retired Patriots player Matt Light, who knows a thing or two about the Super Bowl, since he played in it last year. It’s great for the playoffs, Super Bowl parties, or really any day of the week to munch on! Check it out below:

Matt Light’s Favorite Jalapeno Almonds
Servings: 16
Ingredients:
¼ cup salted butter or margarine
⅓ cup Tabasco jalapeno pepper sauce
1 Tbs. Tabasco pepper sauce
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tsp. garlic powder
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
4 cups whole natural California almonds

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In small saucepan over low heat, melt butter; stir in pepper sauces, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt and mustard. In a large roasting pan, toss mixture with almonds to mix well. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed. Cool. Store in an airtight container.
