Matt Flynn released again. That's the news coming from the Buffalo Bills as Flynn got cut from the team. The Bills are turning back to EJ Manuel, meaning the roster spot for the former Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders quarterback was no longer there. According to a report from Monday (Nov. 4), Manuel has been cleared to play on Sunday (Nov. 10) against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It's not entirely clear whether the Bills will actually let Manuel play yet, with that decision likely coming from practice during the week. He is the future of the franchise, so the team will take its time getting him back on the field. If he isn't ready to go by the weekend, the team will likely turn back to fellow rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel to try to lead the team to an important win.
The Buffalo Bills still have Thad Lewis on the roster as well, so the team isn't desperate at the quarterback position just yet. As for Matt Flynn getting released, this is the second team that has done that to him this season alone. During the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks traded him to the Oakland Raiders, but he quickly lost that job with Oakland to Terrelle Pryor. Now he becomes a free agent again, but his job prospects in the NFL might be extremely limited at this point.
