Matt Damon has had enough. Nighttime host Jimmy Kimmel has taken his joke too far and Damon has finally broken. In a hilarious night of revenge, the “Jimmy Kimmel Show” was taken over on Thursday night by the famous actor, according to E Online on Jan. 24.
Flash to the “Good Will Hunting” star as he shows Kimmel tied up to a chair and gagged. It looked like the years of all the jokes had finally taken its toll. Kimmel would periodically announce that Damon was a guest on his show but then he said that he ran out of time to have him appear.
"There's a new host in town and his initials are M.D.," Damon said. "That's right, the doctor is in."
Damon had made a video beforehand as a teaser to to the big show that he ended up hijacking later on.
“Welcome to tonight's episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Sucks,’ Damon said as he started out the show. "Just for starters, let me ask you guys this: As an audience, is it weird to see a person with actual talent host this show?”
As Kimmel looked on from backstage, the 42-year-old actor brought out a star studded line of actors and actresses as part of the guest list. They included Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Demi Moore. Robin Williams did the monologue, Sheryl Crow had the job as bandleader, and Andy Garcia became Damon’s trusty sidekick.
The best part was the appearance of Damon’s best bud Ben Affleck, who stood in back with cue cards in hand. Unfortunately, he was on Kimmel’s side.
"I'm sorry!" Affleck told him. "Forget it, Matt. I couldn't do it to Jimmy!"
Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman also showed up but had nothing to say to her former lover.
To end the show, Damon brought the beloved host out, still gagged and tied up, and started to take off the gag for him to say goodnight. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time for that.
It was all in good fun and brought out the best in late night television.
What did you think of this epic skit? Who knew Matt Damon could be so revengeful?
