Matt Damon takes Jimmy Kimmel "hostage" on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Video)

If you watched “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday, January 24, you will know how chaotic it truly was. It was announced early in the week that Matt Damon would be Kimmel's only guest for the evening. Usually that doesn't happen, so it was a little shocking to see Damon's name alone on the list.

When the show aired, it was all clear. The faux feud the two have was played on, and Damon took Kimmel hostage. He completed the look by using Kimmel's tie as a gag. The show's name was then changed to “Jimmy Kimmel Sucks.”

Damon brought an all-star cast to help host the event. Sheryl Crow and Andy Garcia were set to replace Kimmel's faithful buddies, Cleto and Guillermo. Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, Ben Affleck, and Reese Witherspoon were also there to take jabs at Kimmel because most of them had not even been on his show as a guest.

The day after the episode aired, all of Hollywood was buzzing about the stunt. Of course Damon did an excellent job, and the stunt was very well executed. Many were saying Damon should give hosting a shot, but as an A-list actor that is highly unlikely.

Audience members most definitely got lucky to witness the prank. It will be talked about for weeks to come, and others will probably try to copy it. If you happened to miss it, you can watch it on ABC.com.

Remember “Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs Monday through Friday at 10:35 pm on local channel 7, on the ABC network.
