Matt Brown vs. Dan Hardy at UFC on FOX 7

Matt Brown will put his four-fight winning streak on the line and take on former title contender Dan Hardy at UFC on FOX 7.

UFC officials announced on Tuesday evening that fight would take place.

UFC on FOX 7 is scheduled to take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on April 20. The welterweight bout will air live on either FX or FOX.

Brown, a native of Xenia, Ohio, is coming off a big second-round knockout win over Mike Swick at UFC on FOX 5 in December. With the win, Brown earned his first four-fight winning streak of his career.

A contestant on season seven of the “Ultimate Fighter,” Brown has gone 9-5 in the UFC since appearing on the show. "The Immortal” hit a rough patch in 2010 by losing three straight fights but has since turned things around and won five out of his last six.

Hardy won his first four fights in the UFC to earn a title shot against Georges St. Pierre in 2010. After losing to St. Pierre, Hardy went on to lose his next three fights and put himself in danger of being released from the UFC.

“The Outlaw” turned things around in 2012 and won back-to-back fights against Duane Ludwig and Amir Sadollah. Hardy is now 6-4 in the UFC.

UFC on FOX 7 is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez. Also on the card, former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will take on the Strikeforce Grand Prix heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
