Matt Brown has been placed on a medical suspension by the Ohio Athletic Commission after his an impressive win at UFC Fight Night 40.

The Xenia, Ohio native was placed on a 45 day suspension by the commission. He will also receive an indefinite suspension until a doctor clears his right elbow.

The Ohio Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions list on Monday following Saturday night’s event at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati. The main card aired live on FOX Sports 1.

Brown defeated Erick Silva in the main event by TKO in the third round. The 33-year-old has now won seven straight fights and finished his opponent by strikes in six of the seven.

After his fight, Brown received $100,000 in post fight bonuses for his "Performance of the Night" and "Fight of the Night" awards. It was the third straight fight that Brown received a post fight bonus.

Silva also received a medical suspension for 60 days and will receive an indefinite suspension until a doctor is able to clear his jaw. Nine other fighters on Saturday’s card received suspensions.
