Matt Bomer tops 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie poll, Ian Somerhalder auctions copy (Photos)

With screenwriter Kelly Marcel’s interview this week sending “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie fans some very welcome news, MStarz reported this Monday, Jan. 7, that top Christian Grey candidates Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder once again placed at the top of the latest casting polls. As Matt Bomer of “White Collar” received quite a bit of praise this week from vocal followers, Celeb Dirty Laundry added this Monday that Ian Somerhalder similarly excited “The Vampire Diaries” fans by offering a signed copy of his own “50 Shades” novel, along with a special “note” for charity.

According to the latest casting polls on MStarz, both Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer continue to lead the Christian Grey casting ranks this week, followed closely by fellow top contender Henry Cavill, the “Man of Steel,” who was recently named the Breakout Movie Star of 2013.

It was the talented Matt Bomer, however, who received the most verbal praise this week from “50 Shades” fans. Many of the comments directed toward the “White Collar” star noted his handsome looks and professional demeanor in line with that of Anastasia Steele’s dominant lover.

“Matt Bomer is the best fit … He has a square jawline, piercing eyes, a straight nose, a nice body … and a classy, professional look fit for a CEO,” said one “Matty” fan.

“Two words only. Matt Bomer,” asserted another commenter.

Not to be outdone, Ian Somerhalder is also keeping fans aware that he’s interested in the casting role of Christian Grey himself. “The Vampire Diaries” actor took to Twitter this Monday to not only excite fans for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, but also keep up with his admirable interest in charity through his foundation.

Ian is offering followers to take part in a raffle for his private copy of “50 Shades of Grey,” along with a “personal note.” Along with a link to his donation site via Twitter and a gift of $50 or more, fans have the chance to win Ian Somerhalder’s very own copy of EL James’ bestselling erotic novel. Talk about a hot read.

“With my personal copy of ’50 Shades’ with a personal note :),” Ian Somerhalder tweeted this afternoon.

With the recently released interview featuring the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie screenwriter Kelly Marcel, it certainly seems at this point that the consistently top Christian Grey contenders would do a great job of finding that balance between the sexual nature and “modern love story” desired for the film adaptation.

Kelly Marcel confirmed that no official casting would be considered until her screenwriting was complete, but it’s still quite likely (hopeful, perhaps) that EL James already has some of her favorite potential actors and actresses rolling about in her mind.
