Matt Bomer is currently filming “Magic Mike 2,” but the actor is ready to get freaky in a different kind of way. Back in August, “American Horror Story: Freak Show” creator Ryan Murphy announced that Bomer has signed on to appear as a guest star in an episode of anthology.
Although Bomer doesn’t know what type of character he will be playing on the FX show, he told E! News in an interview published Tuesday that he is ready for whatever Murphy has in store for him. He told the entertainment site, “The freakier, the better. Bring it on!”
The Emmy nominee has played a wide range of characters over the last couple years, so playing a wacky character on “American Horror Show: Freak Show” won’t be out of his comfort zone. He is actually looking forwards to it, as it will mark the third time he has worked with Murphy. He appeared on an episode of “Glee” and earned his first Emmy nomination for the role of Felix Turner in the Emmy winning HBO adaptation of the Larry Kramer Broadway hit “The Normal Heart.”
Bomer joins Pattie LaBelle as a guest star and returning cast members Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Evan Peters. The series is set to premiere on Oct. 8 and will be set at a carnival. As the series promises to provide a lot of interesting characters, it will be interesting to see what kind of freakiness Matt Bomer’s character adds to the show and storyline.
