Matt Bernson hosts soirees the same way he designs his eponymous shoe line: with flair, aplomb, and fun. Bernson hosted a petite fete for the introduction of his Spring 2014 collection to Bloomingdale’s Soho on March 20. Bernson graced the party with wife Lyndsay and adorable son Myles, who seemed to be enjoying the spotlight as much as his parents.
In addition to a talented artist customizing shoe boxes with detailed designs and complimentary Matt Bernson rings with each shoe purchase, the designer brought in bloggers Grace Atwood of Stripes and Sequins and Arielle Nachami to co-host the festivities. Guests perused the new collection while sipping from mini bottles of champagne and nibbling mini donuts from Tu-Lu’s bakery.
The collection itself was classic Bernson, from the perfect suede booties in shades of grey, brown, and black, to studded, metallic leather sandals and perforated brogues. Atwood and Bernson collaborated on the particularly glitzy “Izabel” flats embellished with navy and silver sequins, in reference to Atwood’s blog Stripes and Sequins. Other favorites from the collection included the cobalt and taupe Biarritz espadrilles, and the classic pointy toe Mercer sandals. With a pair of Matt Bernson shoes in hand, we’re ready for Spring. The first 50 customers received a limited-edition Matt Bernson Tribeca ring.
