Mat Kearney greets fans after performing at DAR.
Last Tuesday's performance at DAR Constitution Hall had special meaning for Mat Kearney. During the performance he announced that his album "City of Black and White" was released that day and he dubbed the DAR show his album release party. Warming up the stage for Keane, Mat performed mostly new material while dressed in the same black fedora, white shirt, black skinny tie and jeans that he wore on the album cover.
He admitted to not knowing what DAR stood for but knew that "the D stood for Daughters" and immediately added "I like daughters." His wit also showed as he sat down at a piano and said, "when I wrote this song I imagined two doctors would be making out to it." The song, All I Need, was featured on Grey's Anatomy.
After his set he invited all attendees to an open meet and greet at the merch table. He was greeted with more than a warm welcome, he was greeted by a warm swarm of fans. He posed for pictures, signed autographs, and sold out the available stock of CD's.
