Christopher Rojas, 27, will appear Dec. 10 at the Village of Westhampton Beach Justice Court to be arraigned on a felony charge of second-degree robbery.
Rojas, police said, is being charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at the Valero Gas Station on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach. Police say they received a 911 call at 5:15 a.m. on Nov. 30 from an employee at the gas station, who told the officers that he was robbed at gunpoint earlier in the morning.
The next day, Westhampton Beach Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle that was traveling on Dune Road. Officers pulled the car over and the vehicle was impounded during a traffic stop, police said.
Investigators obtained a warrant to search the vehicle and as a result of that search, police found “evidence associated with the robbery,” a news release said.
If convicted, Rojas faces up to 15 years in prison.
