Mastic man arrested for strangling girlfriend to death

According to Suffolk Police, Justin Miller and his girlfriend, Teresa Heredia, 29, both of Mastic, were having an argument when Miller alleged choked and killed Heredia at approximately 11 a.m.  The couple’s seven-month-old baby in the home, and may have been in the same room.  Miller called his sister after the incident, and the sister called police.

 

When SCPD officers arrived at the scene, Heredia was unconscious. She was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead.

 

Miller was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and was arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

 

The couple's baby was unharmed physically, and was released to a relative.
