An early morning visit by police resulted in arrests on felony weapons and drug charges for a Mastic couple on Friday, Suffolk County police said.
Seventh Squad detectives arrested Ian Dunn and Kayla Caruso, both 18-year-old, of 14 Meadowmere Ave., after executing a search warrant at their Mastic home early Friday morning. According to detectives, during the search of the home, officers recovered a substantial amount of drugs and a .38 caliber revolver.
It was 12:39 a.m., when officers served the search warrant on the couple, cops said. Once inside, officers found heroin, Oxycodone pills, cocaine, and over $8,000 cash, a police news release said. It was not immediately clear what sparked officers to obtain a warrant.
Dunn was charged with second-degree menacing, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Caruso was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and released on a desk appearance ticket.
Dunn was taken into police custody and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
