As reported by PGA.com on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, the Masters’ Par-3 Contest has become one of the best annual traditions in golf, and 2014 is no exception. Thus, the event will not only be broadcast on ESPN (TV scheduled start time 3 p.m. EST), but it will also be live streaming on a number of websites.
For starters, the 2014 Masters Par-3 Contest will be played at Augusta National’s Par-3 Course, which is a par-27 gem totaling 1,060 yards in length. And while the action officially gets underway at Noon, ESPN’s coverage tees off at 3 p.m. EST live from Augusta, Ga., following the 2 p.m. edition of SportsCenter.
There’s also great news for golf fans that are either stuck at work, and/or without access to a television. Courtesy of Masters.com and WatchESPN/ESPN3, the 2014 Masters Par 3 Contest will be streaming live and free for desktops and a number of Internet mobile devices from 3-5 p.m. EST.
The 54th edition of the Masters Par-3 Contest will bring together some of the biggest names in golf and their families for an afternoon of fun in the sun. As it has become customary, golf fans can expect to see current Masters contestants, past champions and other invited players.
There’s no question that one of the biggest names in this year’s Masters is Rory McIlroy. A few days ago, the 2011 US Open champ not only announced he would be competing in Wednesday’s proceedings, but also that tennis-star/fiancée Caroline Wozniacki would carry his bag for a second year in a row.
“She’s just worried that it might rain. If it’s raining, she’s not going to caddie,” he said.
Don’t miss what should be a fun day for the players before the start of the 2014 Masters golf tournament. Tune to ESPN at 3 p.m. EST to watch the national TV broadcast, or click on any of the links provided above for free live streaming options for the 2014 Masters Par-3 Contest.
