For those who are unable to attend Planechase release events this weekend at any of the Boston places to play Magic, and still want to get their Magic fix for the weekend, don't fret: Masters Edition III is here.
While actual release events will not start until after the Wednesday downtime, today one can participate in a special prerelease event for 30 event tickets.
Masters Edition III is a Magic Online only expansion, containing 230 cards (70 rare, 70 uncommon, and 70 common). Unlike typical releases, Masters Edition III cards cannot be redeemed for their physical versions.
For those who are unfamilar with Magic Online, it is a free to download computer program that lets you play Magic on your PC. Packs cost full retail to buy from the Magic Online Store, however sets can be redeemd for their physical counterparts. It is great for people who either live far away from a card shop, simply do not have the time to go, or would rather play from the convenience of their home.
So whether you decide to attend a Planechase release event today or play in the Masters Edition III prerelease, have fun sipping on your Planeswalker soda and happy top decking!
