Oh “Woodrow” as Tiger Woods would say of himself, it doesn’t get any better from here. Once again the greatness of Tiger is under question as he falls short of winning the 2011 Masters Tournament.
Woodrow is responsible for putting this pressure on himself by starting his career at such a blistering pace. Every time Tiger steps on the course it’s asinine to think that he’s not going to win, but that was then and this is now.
Tiger Woods started last season under extreme circumstances including numerous questions about his personal life, a media circus every time he was viewed in public, a sit down press interview, and a pending divorce/separation that now we can say jolted the unbreakable Tiger Woods.
This year he was supposed to put it all behind him and become the Tiger Woods of old.
We used to think it would take something special to knock one of the most dominant golf players off his pedestal, but little did we know it would only take a female…or 19 of them.
Woods started the day seven shots back, but would make the turn with a 5 under 31 to tie the lead with Rory McIlroy and Charl Schwartzel.
Tiger had his chances on the back nine for birdies and even his second eagle of the day, but has now completed 18 months without a victory.
This continues to be the longest drought of his professional career.
Tiger’s 2010 season contributed to him losing his number one overall ranking after spending five months out of golf, including two months at sexual rehab at a Mississippi clinic.
While we should move on and past what Tiger has been through these last two and half years it becomes more difficult to do so when we see Tiger continuing to not win.
It’s amazing that someone dominant at a sport the way that Tiger was could fall dramatically the way that he has.
Tiger continues to show signs of his “old” self. He’s close, but not there…and he may not get there.
In our world today if you decide to go into sports you might as well put your life on TMZ. There is no hiding what one does behind closed doors because when you are in the public eye the door is always open.
We never knew that there was such a thing as sexual addiction until Tiger Woods but thanks to the media, we have created a disease. Since Tiger Woods is responsible for the popularity of sexual addiction we might as well name it after him.
Further investigation shows that almost every man now suffers from Tiger Woods disease.
22 percent of men and 14 percent of women have cheated during a marriage and in a survey of 380,000 people, 1 in 10 stated they were addicted to sex. Tiger Woods syndrome just may become the most popular disease of them all.
For us to imagine that Tiger would come out strong and perform the way that he has previously was asinine for us to believe. While the sex addiction may be a joke it is no joke to separate your family and kids.
It becomes a new life and a new start and becomes impossible to realize all the heartbreak, confusion, and jealously that goes along with the divorce and separation of your wife and kids.
Such a devastating act takes a toll on a person and can knock them down hard, not only for a year but for years and possibly a career.
Could it be that Tiger is starting to turn it all around? The 2011 Masters was a good showcase to start with.
