On Monday night’s installment of “Masterchef” the cooks were given a-net-full of live seafood ingredients, and told to create a fascinating dish that would encompass their creativity, originality, and talent. It should be pointed out that all cooks seem to be gunning for Courtney who has been at the top since the show began.

The top cook would receive and advantage in the pantry for the elimination challenge, and the winner was Ahran who went to the pantry and got to choose between muffins, cookies, or donuts for the elimination challenge, and she picked the latter. The cooking ensued and from the get go Courtney who has been at the top, found herself struggling and those around her enjoying every minute of her hardship since they all obviously fear her talent in the kitchen.

The cooks were to present a box with 12 perfectly cooked donuts and the glaze were left up to the cooks’ creativity. Cutter also struggled and Francis B. who had scored high marks on the seafood dish, now found himself on the verge of disaster. Ahran who other than not cooking and choosing what the others would have to serve, also was asked to pick one cook she wanted to save from judgment and so she decided on Francis B. Then tasting began and Leslie was given praise, as well as Francis L, but on the bottom were Courtney, Kira, and Cutter. This last one was saved and sent back to his cooking station, Courtney was chastised on a terrible doughnut, which included salt rather than sugar, and Kira was missing uniformity, flavor, and filling which she assured the judges, her donuts contained. Kira was sent home, along with Jordan who fell sick; so now only 17 cooks remain. Next week’s challenge has to do with a wedding and not only do the cooks must prepare the food, but there seems to be some huge altercation between Leslie and a member of his team.

“Masterchef” runs on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
