MasterChef” gave its contestants a new mystery box challenge in episode 6 of the show. On Monday, the official Facebook page for the show revealed that Alexander Weiss and Luca Manfé joined the other judges to surprise the chefs. The two winners of the previous shows played an important part in the elimination test.

Weiss was the winner of the first season of “MasterChef Junior” while Manfé was the winner of the fourth season of “MasterChef.” Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich welcomed the two guest judges to the show in the “Top 16 Compete” episode. The two champions have continued to cook and find more opportunities to share their skills with the public.

The mystery box challenge consisted of unlabeled canned goods, and the chefs were instructed they could open all of them or only one of them. The cans varied from fruit to chickpeas, and some of the chefs had a hard time deciding how to use them in a spectacular dish. However, Elizabeth’s borscht was the winner with all three judges praising the soup and enjoying it.

Elizabeth had the chance to meet Weiss and Manfé because as the winner of the mystery box challenge she was part of the decision-making process for the elimination test. She had the power to decide which chef would cook either a pancetta with veal dish or a panna cotta dish. The contestants were challenged to copy the dishes originally made by the two champions of the show.

Tyler was the surprise elimination of the night on “MasterChef” after he made a crucial mistake that left the judges arguing about the show’s rules. Tyler claimed he accidentally grabbed and presented Jaimee’s panna cotta, and he did not realize the problem until Ramsay pointed it out. However, the judges eliminated him and declared Courtney the winner of the challenge.
