In the first episode, viewers said good-bye to Krissi, the 34-year old paralegal from Philadelphia. A pressure test brought the choice down to either her or Jessie, the 27-year old yacht stewardess from Georgia. Jessie beat Krissi for a spot in the final three by a single molten lava cake.
In the second episode, the home cooks were asked to prepare the dishes they originally auditioned with for the show. This time the judges wanted to see how far they had come and how much they had learned. Natasha was the first to be saved and sent to the final two. Viewers may have been surprised when the judges then choose Luca over Jessie to join Natasha in the finale.
So, now it is down to two home cooks competing for $250,000, their own cookbook and the “MasterChef” title. Will the winner be Natasha, the 26-year old homemaker from San Diego? Or will Luca, the 31-year old restaurant manager from New York, take the prize?
Natasha, whose primary cooking inspiration is her father, is tough, out-spoken and has been a favorite for weeks, if not longer. Luca, whose primary cooking inspiration is his mother, is on the quiet side but seemed to step things up toward the end.
Either contestant would be a great home cook to hold that coveted title. Who is your vote for; Natasha or Luca? Tune in next Wednesday for the season four finale of “MasterChef” on FOX to see which home cook takes it all home.
