Manga and anime publisher Viz Media announced earlier today, that it has acquired the manga series “Master Keaton” for release later this year, through its Viz Signature imprint.

“Master Keaton” is another series from award-winning creator, Naoki Urasawa, whose other works, “20th Century Boys”, “Monster” and “Pluto: Urasawa x Tezuka”, are also available in North America from Viz Media. “Master Keaton” was originally published in Japan between 1988 and 1994.

The series follows the adventures of Taichi Hiraga-Keaton, the son of a Japanese zoologist and an English noblewoman, who uses his unorthodox methods to investigate a variety of mysteries. An archaeology professor and part-time insurance investigator, as well as a former member of the SAS, Master Keaton utilizes both his wit and combat training to uncover buried secrets and stop would-be villains in pursuit of the truth.

Readers can look for the first volume of “Master Keaton” in stores from Viz Media’s Viz Signature imprint, beginning in December. Each volume of the manga will include 18-pages of full-color artwork.
