Most people celebrate a baby's impending arrival at a baby shower, but a baby shower brawl over the weekend in Stoughton, Mass. turned the event into a complete mess. The shower was held Saturday night, and by the time police broke up everything, multiple arrests had been made. The Patriot Ledger shared the latest details on Jan. 14.
The baby shower brawl happened at the Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton Saturday night, and four people, including a 14-year-old boy, are now facing charges. Police recorded parts of the fight on cameras that were attached to their tasers, and it seems bottles were flying and furniture was being smashed. This all happened with children in attendance, and some of the female partygoers were fighting as well. Police had to use a stun gun on one baby shower attendee, and allegedly the partygoers were even assaulting the police.
The police arrived on the scene around 11:45 p.m. and it seemed virtually nobody would cooperate with the efforts by police to settle things down and get people moving along. The baby shower brawl included about 200 people and the police had to bring in assistance from neighboring police departments. Police have not released video footage of the brawl, but chances are good something will turn up online at some point.
Four men have been charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Three of the four also face charges of obstruction of justice, while one is charged with intimidation of a witness as well. Details have not been shared regarding the ties between the men and those at the center of the event. Many following the story are feeling a bit worried and sad for the fate of the coming baby if a baby shower brawl is how things are celebrated in this circle of family and supposed friends.
