Massasoit Theatre Company debuts 'The Wizard of Oz' on Friday, May 2

From the re-release of the beloved 1939 film, the upcoming animated movie ‘Legends of Oz,’ to integrating the classic story into the hit show, ‘Once Upon a Time,’ the world is celebrating ‘The Wizard of Oz!’ As enchanting as it is powerful, Massasoit Community College proudly presents ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ paying tribute to the film’s 75th anniversary. Directed and choreography by Corinne Mason with musical direction by Janice Issa-Wright, venture into the mesmerizing world of Oz on Friday, May 2, Saturday, May 3, Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10 at 8 p.m. Sunday performances will take place on May 4 and May 11 at 3 p.m. All performances will be held at the Community Theater at the Buckley Performing Arts Center, One Massasoit Boulevard in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Based on the spellbinding, classic novel by Frank L. Baum, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is a brilliant, musical tale about a girl launched into a mysterious new world, but always dreams of home. Classic musical numbers include, ‘We’re Off to See the Wizard,’ ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ and ‘Over the Rainbow.’
