Massachusetts soon in a different column

Liberals who failed with One Nation to re-create the grass roots of the tea party or create the buzz of the democratic surge are now investing heavily into the John Stewart event as Arianna Huffington has provided 100 buses at a cost of $250,000 to pad his live comedy show oops I mean “Rally to Restore Sanity” in Washington.

Meanwhile reports of a democrat surge are according to Public Opinion Strategies overstated.

I also went back and looked at 41 Democratic-held districts where we polled in August/early September, and then once again just within the last two weeks. The net shift across the generic ballot was, on average, -0.24% – essentially one quarter of a percent. That does not represent a statistical significant shift over the course of one month

And even the Boston Globe is reporting enthusiasm for republicans in the state is off the charts.  The Scott Brown election in January energized local tea party activists, the decision to push Obamacare against the nation’s wishes galvanized them and the end result are stories like this:

I was speaking with a prominent Tea Party member in the eastern part of the state she has been doing the heavy work of going door to door on days off to talk to voters, passing out literature and pushing her candidates. The report I got was astounding.

Over and over doors were about to be closed until the voter heard the Magic word “Republican”. When the voter heard that word, doors were opened, literature accepted and thumbs up given. Only one in four at best thought otherwise. Meanwhile on primary day at local polling places I talked to longtime democratic votes had nothing good to say about John Olver who they have been voting for faithfully for nearly two decades.

And the tea parties continue to work hard. The Twin City Tea Party for example canceled their October meeting to give more time for members to work on campaigns.  The result?  This morning I heard a democrat in a debate on WCRN AM 830 praising the Tea Party as people getting involved and sitting lawmakers talking about how often they vote against their own democratic majority.

Charlie Cook the pollster have moved two formally “safe” democratic seats ma-4 and ma-5 into the “likely democrat” in two weeks I suspect he will be moving the entire state of Massachusetts into the column “Oh my God!”
