Mass. woman gives birth to 14.5 pound baby

A woman in Massachusetts gave birth to a 14.5 pound baby. The baby girl was born on April 22 and was the second largest baby ever delivered at Mass. Gerneral Hospital. According to a video report by ITN, Carisa Ruscak was delivered via C-section and was the largest baby delivered at the hospital in over a decade.

Carisa's parents, Caroline and Bryan, were prepared for another big baby since their first child weighed over 10 pounds at birth. Contrary to popular belief, a big newborn does not always signify a health issue like diabetes. Carisa is doing really well -- even if she is the size of a 6-month-old. Her weight it nearly double that of the "average" newborn baby according to Huffington Post.

"It validated me because I was in a lot of pain when I was pregnant, so to hear the size, it made sense," said mom Caroline, who is also doing well post-birth. Check Carisa out in the video above.
