The cast of Monlith’s upcoming Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will bring some of the industry’s most well-known voice actors together for this fall’s release. As Game Informer reported on May 22, a recently announced casting list for the game revealed several names that should sound familiar to many gamers.
The voice talent that will be attached to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor includes individuals like Troy Baker, Nolan North, Laura Bailey, and Alastair Duncan. If these names ring a bell its because they are among the most popular voice actors appearing in video games today.
Troy Baker is most known recently for providing the voice of Joel in The Last of Us as well as inFamous: Second Son’s Delsin and Booker from BioShock: Infinite. He is also attached to the Saints Row series as one of the possible voices for the male protagonist. Baker also filled in for Mark Hamill as the Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins.
Most notably known for his role as Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, Nolan North is responsible for voicing several characters within the fields of gaming and animation alike. North has teamed up with Baker on multiple occasions including the most recent example of North’s performance of the villainous David The Last of Us. Like Troy Baker, Nolan North was also one of the optional voices in Saints Row IV.
Among the other popular talent, fans may recognize Alastair Duncan and Laura Bailey for their roles in Bioware’s Mass Effect franchise. Duncan also appeared in Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance while Bailey voiced the neon-based character of Fetch inside inFamous: Second Son.
Monolith's Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor launches on Oct 7 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Players will take on the role of a fallen ranger who has been brought back to life after becoming tethered to a dark spirit.
