Those who might be getting anxious about Bioware’s silence regarding the next Mass Effect game can rest easy after the developer revealed that they are putting an emphasis on the quality of the series’ upcoming fourth installment rather than worrying about meeting deadlines or releasing details. As reported by Gameranx on March 4, Bioware Montreal Studio Director Yanick Roy recently took to Twitter to apologize to fans on the lack of information while confirming that they are hard at work on creating a quality title regardless of how long it might take.

I apologize for not having any new info on the next Mass Effect for you. It's because our focus is on doing it right over doing it fast!

The next entry of the Mass Effect series will begin a new story arch within the franchise as the Commander Shepard narrative became a trilogy that ended in Mass Effect 3. As such, the new Mass Effect game will feature a new protagonist. Despite the fact that it will be the series’ fourth entry, the next installment will unlikely be officially titled Mass Effect 4 in an attempt to distance the new title from the original trilogy.

In addition to working on a new Mass Effect game, Bioware Montreal is also currently developing Dragon Age: Inquisition. Both titles are being built using the Frostbite 3 engine.
