Mass Effect 4 release date

The actual Mass Effect 4 release date is currently unknown. The reason for this is because only recently has Bioware announced that there will probably be a mass effect 4. Currently they’re in the pre-production phase, trying to figure out where to go next in the series. The only things that can really be confirmed about the next Mass Effect is that there will be no “commander Shepard” in Mass Effect 4, and that the new Mass Effect will be on the Frostbite Game engine which is similar to the game engine used for Dragon Age III. [Elder Scrolls Online is coming to PC]

When/if Bioware announces a release date for Mass Effect 4, this page will be one of the first to update and reflect those announcements.

If a Mass Effect 4 is made, based on previous timelines, it’s likely to be released sometime between late 2014 and 2016.

As of right now it seems likely that there will be a Mass Effect 4; again though, currently they’re in a pre-production phase. Bioware is shooting around ideas among management, asking questions to the community, and much more to figure out the best place to go next with the massive Mass Effect universe. From the sounds of it, they’ve probably figured out the general direction that they’re going to take with the next Mass Effect.

Some people are speculating that Mass Effect 4 will re-cap on historical events from the Mass Effect series, such as the Rachni Wars, or the Krogan Rebellions, but if these are the basis for a Mass Effect game, it would be better suited for a side title, and not the next major installment (i.e. Halo Reach). As far as a Mass Effect 4 goes, it would be best suited to either continue off from where Mass Effect 3 left off in order to show what happened to life in the universe after the destruction of the Reapers, or to just start completely fresh in a new video game world.

Knowing Bioware though, whatever the chosen path, Mass Effect 4 will be the most anticipated RPG of its year, and extremely successful. Just look at the success of the Mass Effect series so far, it’s difficult to foresee Mass Effect 4 being anything but another colossal success.
