Aaryn Flynn has clarified a rumor in regards to a new video game from Bioware, the studio behind the upcoming "Dragon Age Inquisition" and tentatively-titled "Mass Effect 4." According to a report from Gameranx on July 25, Electronic Arts released a teaser for a title called "Shadow Realms." The video ended by saying that more information will be revealed at GamesCom 2014.
The general manager at Bioware disclosed that the new project is not being developed at the Edmonton and Montreal studios of the company. Aside from the Canadian offices, Bioware Austin was formed in 2005 to develop the massively-multiplayer online role-playing game, "Star Wars: The Old Republic." It appears that the studio in Texas could also be responsible for the new project.
Aaryn Flynn also stated that the new intellectual property that the company talked briefly about at E3 2014 is not related to "Shadow Realms." At last month's event, Bioware released a video to give fans an insight on the future projects. Although much of the footage were focused on "Mass Effect 4," the individuals confirmed that a new intellectual property is in development as well.
GamesCom 2014 begins on Aug. 13. The convention will be opened to the invited press only for the first day. Regular attendees can then access the show floor, which is located in Cologne, Germany, for the next four days. The event has grown increasingly popular over the past several years with major companies taking advantage of the opportunity to reveal big games and announcements.
Bioware is putting the finishing touches on the development of "Dragon Age Inquisition," which recently got delayed from Oct. 7 to Nov. 18. A screen from the upcoming PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One medieval fantasy role-playing game can be seen near the top of this article (via the official "Dragon Age" Facebook website). "Mass Effect 4" does not have a release date window although it is around the half-way point of the production cycle.
