It's been a lot longer than the couple weeks after launch we were told to expect, but BioWare has finally released information on the next batch of downloadable content including the Hammerhead assault vehicle. Even with this announcement, the wait isn't over however. The Firewalker Pack is slated for release sometime in late March.
"The Hammerhead assault vehicle is coming to the Cerberus Network in late March!
Free to all Cerberus Network members, the Firewalker pack includes 5 all new missions featuring the Hammerhead. Hovering over the battlefield at up to 120 kilometers per hour, the Hammerhead also boasts a guided missile system ensuring accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering.
Additionally we will be revealing a new heavy weapon available to all Cerberus Network members very soon. Stay tuned for more info on this new addition to the Mass Effect 2 arsenal, coming this month!" - From the official Mass Effect 2 site.
Thankfully Mass Effect 2 allows players to continue their adventure after the main story so there shouldn't be any problems with playing this new content if you've already beaten the main game. Here's hoping the the new vehicle and missions will however add incentive to playing through a new game plus save.
If you don't have the game yet, Mass Effect 2 can be found at any local video game retailer. Be warned though that only new copies of the game come with free access to the Cerberus Network. If you get a used copy and are interested in the DLC, you will need to purchase a code from Xbox live to gain access to the network. The code will cost about $15 though the actual DLC (that has been released so far as well as the upcoming Firewalker pack) remains "free" once you're a member.
As always, stay tuned for any additional information as it's released.
