Mason's: a grown-up candy, wine restaurant during Talbot Co.'s Restaurant Week (Photos)

It's Restaurant Week in gracious Talbot County, Maryland. Talbot County has only been an epicenter of fine living for just three centuries, give or take a couple of years.

After a full day of exploring charming Easton, Maryland's historic downtown, it was time to take a break. I was happy to be hosted to check it out!

Mason's is a handmade chocolate shop, wine bar and casual gourmet restaurant all rolled in one. The number of truffles sold there -- made for them by Naron in Baltimore -- is flabbergasting. Choose from milk or dark, and then go from there to fruit, liqueur or other varieties.

I was listening to some of the staff talking to patrons about new wines coming in. They were quite knowledgeable about varietals, flavor profiles, vineyards, etc.

Because they have gourmet dining at night, even casual day snacks are treated with great, fine dining service. As I accidentally dumped a whole latte into my purse, the staff helped me so quickly, nothing was wrecked.

This is Restaurant Week for the county, so you can grab all kinds of deals. Easton's heart is just blocks off US 50, the road "down de ocean, Hon."
