Marysville power couple preaches the Word every week at ‘Church After Church’

Pastors Theresa and Keith Roshon of Running for My Life Ministries in Marysville share a message at Marysville Aglow this Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 7 pm, at 122 N. Court St. in Marysville.

The Roshon’s ministry includes Church after Church, every Sunday at 1 pm, a new service each week at their Court Street building. They share the word every week, and also have guest speakers like Pastor Jerry More of Grace Fellowship and Prophetess Adele Gray who will be speaking on Easter Sunday; or it may be someone new they met that they discerned the presence of God and when that person shared with them, they felt compelled to have them speak. “We started having Church After Church on January, 13, 2013 at 1 pm, which is the 13th hour. God instructed us to do that. We had been in prayer over a year and we were having some Sunday evening evangelistic services. We senses there was a change coming and we didn’t know what direction God was going,” Theresa shares.

The Roshon’s share a desire to reach the unsaved -- a desire to encourage people to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. They encourage those already in the body to live and move in their faith. Both Keith and Theresa’s lives radically changed 30 years ago when their lives were touched by the power of God in an inner city church in Columbus, Ohio. Since then she and her husband Keith worked in evangelistic ministry in prisons and detention centers throughout Ohio, as well as churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Canada and Haiti. For eight years they operated a youth center in Marysville for “at risk” youth in the community. Now they enter a new season with a new ministry that will focus on bringing restoration, spirit, soul and body.

“Walking in a new position in Christ in a pastoral will after being an evangelist, teacher, traveling for so many years, is totally different. You can’t just speak the word and leave. You have to deal with aftermath in an encouraging way, in a compassionate way without your opinions, Theresa states. “You need to be everyone’s spiritual cheerleader in God, and that doesn’t mean you water down the word of God because there’s a standard in God. I believe our vision is encouraging people who are saved to walk by faith; to be productive participants in the body of Christ, not just church goers, and for those coming, who aren’t saved, encouraging them to receive the redemptive gift of Jesus.”

Both boisterous and demonstrative, Theresa and Keith resonate a different type of spirit. It’s the flavor of their ministry. They offer worship, prayer, relevant and anointed teaching and personal ministry. As their Facebook page says, “Come expecting, come believing, come as you are.” As Keith states, “we want to maintain that spirit at our church – that welcoming spirit at our church especially to the body of Christ, wherever they’re at. We’re into the five-fold ministry. We love the scriptures and in Ephesians that talk about the body being joined together, compacted – one body! It doesn’t matter where you go to church.” The pastors allow people to utilize their giftings in the church. “We have people sitting in the church that never get an opportunity to speak or to do anything. As God leads us, we invite people to share,” Theresa states. Someone may pray for the offering, or open the service with a word or prayer.

“It’s the anointing of God that breaks the yolk. If you’re being obedient to what God wants you to do, people are going to feel the presence of God, and in that presence they’re going to feel power; they’re going to feel faith; they’re going to feel a push and encouragement because to every man is given a measure of faith, so when you get around people that are being obedient to Christ on whatever level; there in, you’re going to find a blessing and that what draws people – that anointing and that blessing that comes with you,” Keith adds.
