For the past two winters there was not much to do at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, except visiting the animals. This winter that changes as the Zoo will continue its public programs in January and February 2013. One is the Animal Adventures program
Winter Animal Adventures
Animal Adventures now continue during the winter season. This program features a weekly theme that teaches children about the husbandry, behavior, adaptations and ecology of the featured animals. Children will learn through a variety of activities, including puppet shows, story times and other hands-on educational activities.
Depending on weather conditions the program location will either be the Meeting Barn or Chimpanzee Forest.
These exciting adventure programs are on Fridays and Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for children and families. An Animal Adventures schedule can be found below:

What You Need to Know
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is located in Druid Hill Park near the downtown area (click here for directions). It is currently opened Friday through Monday from 10 a.m.-4p.m. (January through February). Parking is free.
Current winter admission (Friday through Monday) is $8.25 for adults (12-64), $6.75 for seniors (64+), and $5.75 children (2-11). Children 2 and under are admitted free.
