Only one more weekend to enjoy winter admission rates at the Maryland Zoo. On March 1, the zoo resumes its normal operating schedule. So, come visit this Friday through Monday and warm up with the animals while taking a stroll through the beautiful park at discounted rates.
On Saturday, February 25th, join the zoo for a party celebrating some recent birthdays. Cuma, a female lion, has her “Sweet 16,″ at 10:30 a.m. at the Lion Exhibit. Then, at the 11 a.m. in the Chimpanzee Forest, Otto, a sifaka which is part of the lemur family, celebrates birthday number one! In the afternoon at 2 p.m., Ray-Ray, the gazelle, also blows out the first candle on the African Journey Boardwalk antelope exhibit. Ray-Ray's festivities are weather permitting.
Most of the creatures present a priceless show no matter the admission price or weather. But, considering the less than frigid climate Baltimore has experienced this winter, the polar bears would especially love some human entertainment to take their minds off of the sweltering above-freezing temperatures.
Join the furry and finned for the reduced price of $8.25 for adults, $5.75 for children ages 2-11, and seniors pay $6.75. Children under 2 and Zoo members are always free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
When unable to greet the animal kingdom in person, how about creating an entertaining Facebook cover for you and your visitors to enjoy? Facebook's new timeline feature allows users to create a cover for their pages. Why not use a colorful photo of one of the Zoo's photogenic residents?
