You probably didn't know it, but during September the Responsible Dog Ownership (RDO) Day is celebrated all over the country. Despite the name it is not merely limited to one specific day, but rather several weeks of exciting events hosted by the American Kennel Club, along with several other affiliated clubs and dog organizations.
In Maryland, the fun starts on September 12 and events are planned up until September 27. There are events for cities and local groups and events for certain dog breeds. These events include behavioral testing, obedience and training exercises, talks on responsible ownership, microchipping, health clinics, showmanship classes, and agility trials. Mixed in with these are puppy matches, races, raffles, food and all sorts of fun. Click here for a official schedule.
Specific Dog Breeds Represented
1.Scottish Terrier
2.Boxer
3.Shetland Sheepdog
4.Irish Setter
5.Bull Terrier

Although these breeds are specifically represented in certain events, you are more than welcome to bring your dog, of any breed, to the other events in your area.
