There will be a hearing on fracking at the Miller Senate Building in Annapolis on Feb 25. The hours are 12:30 - 5 p.m. The Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs committee will be considering the fracking moratorium bill, which is called the Fracking Study Review Act. The hearing is particularly urgent since the Governor's executive order forbidding fracking expires in six months. The Maryland Native Plant Society is offering a talk on the Maryland Biodiversity Project at the Kensington Library on Feb 25. It will start at 7:30 p.m. The Project aims to catalogue every species in Maryland, and so far has information on over 11,000 species. The Project aims to promote conservation and nature education.
