Even Mary Worth needs to get it on once in a while.
You'd think this nosy old biddy would have a diminished sex drive by now - her comic has run since 1938, after all - but here she is in Friday's episode making a play for a bathrobe-clad gentleman who looks to be one-third her age!
We can't remember the last time Mary ever made a pot of soup for an ancillary character in her comic and had such a spring in her step about doing it. "Maybe I can help you with MORE than your cold," she says, clearly envisioning a night of passion the likes of which she probably has not seen since 1964.
It's not as if Mary lacks for male companionship. She has been dating the relatively milquetoast-y Dr. Jeff for years, but there never seems to be any sizzle in the relationship, the bulk of which appears to be spent trying to get Mary to test out any gadget invented since 1974.
Little wonder, then, that the prospect of a younger gentleman whose defenses against amorous aggression have been weakened by illness appeals to this randy yenta. Will Mary get her groove on? Unless this guy has the strength to fend her off - and that wide-eyed look she has on her face in the comic's second panel seems to underscore her commitment to shacking up - we think Mary will be rounding third and heading for home in just a few short hours.
