The Screen Actors Guild’s Life Achievement Award was given to Mary Tyler Moore at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night. The award, sharing the accomplishments of the actress, was handed to her by no other than her former cast member Dick Van Dyke.
Seeing both legends on stage was a sight to recognize. Accomplished entertainers who blazed the field of television, Moore seemed truly moved to have Dick Van Dyke as part of the ceremony. While the two embraced during the honor, Van Dyke gave an overview to the audience of the importance as Moore’s life prior to handing over the award.
Screen Actors Guild is honoring Mary Tyler Moore for her career achievement and humanitarian accomplishments. In addition to the on screen accomplishments, she has also been heavily involved with fighting diabetes. Raising awareness and funds, the entertainer has made the platform a focus for her fans to watch.
Past recipients of SAG’s Life Achievement Award include Ernest Borgnine, Betty White, James Earl Jones, Charles Durning, Julie Andrews, Shirley Temple Black, James Garner, Karl Malden, Clint Eastwood, Edward Asner, Robert Redford and George Burns.
