Mary Kay LeTourneau has been jailed in Seattle after being arrested on Jan. 5, according to CBS news. She was booked for failure to appear after allegedly driving without a current license and being caught by law enforcement months after a warrant was released. Her bond, which was reportedly not met, is $5,000.
This is not the first time the former teacher broke the law, although this time the reason is not quite as serious as were former charges.
Yes, this charge is criminal but the criminal charge are at the lowest level possible whereas her case regarding statutory rape with her student when she was a teacher in his school put her in jail for three months. This was a reduced sentence because Letourneau "pleaded guilty to child rape."
Then Mary Kay was back in jail again in 1998 after violating probation for hooking up again with her teen lover. She spent seven-and-a-half years in prison. During those lock-ups, she gave birth to two children with her victim, Vili Faulaau, who was 12 when the couple first allegedly started having sex.
When Faulaau was 22, he married Mary Kay LeTourneau, who was 43 at the time. Now this infamous sex offender is jailed in Seattle, this time for driving without a valid license. Apparently, this lawbreaker has not yet been able to stay out of trouble for too long. That said, hopefully this will be the last time she spends time in jail.
