Phase Three of Marvel's Cinematic Universe will be happening a few months earlier than originally planned. On Monday, September 9 Comingsoon.net broke the news that Marvel's "Ant-Man" will be released four months earlier during the summer of 2015. The film will now be released on July 31, 2015. The film follows the story of Dr. Hank Pym, who was a founding member of The Avengers, and his alter ego Ant-Man. The superhero has the ability to shrink rapidly to the size of an insect.
The film will be released just two months after "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which will release on May 1 and will be directed by Joss Whedon. Edgar Wright will direct "Ant-Man" and has previously mentioned that Ultron was never a part of the film script. Wright and director Joe Cornish co-wrote the script which has been in the works since the late 1990s. Wright pushed doing the film until 2015 to allow for better special effects.
The film was originally slated for release in November, but will now be a summer blockbuster. Production will begin in October while filming is begin in early 2014. There is no new information on casting or filming locations.
