According to ComicBook.com on Sept. 7, Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." now has an official plot synopsis available to get a full idea of what the TV series is all about. Certain plot points has been revealed in the past through promotional pieces, but most of which had been fragmented and not entirely complete. The show begins later this month and now the synopsis can shed some light to fans all around on what is happening with the Marvel show created by Joss Whedon.
That being said, from what was gathered in the pilot episode synopsis, there are already initial assignments in place that involve a threat to pursue and contain as well as a super human to encounter.
"In the premiere episode, “Pilot,” it’s just after the battle of New York, and now that the existence of super heroes and aliens has become public knowledge, the world is trying to come to grips with this new reality. Agent Phil Coulson is back in action and has his eye on a mysterious group called the Rising Tide. In order to track this unseen, unknown enemy, he has assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). The group’s first assignment together as a team finds them trying to track down an ordinary man who has gained extraordinary powers. Powers that could have devastating consequence".
Agent Phil Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, is some how "resurrected" after his encounter with Loki during the events in New York. That being said, it's no wonder that those who have level seven access would be aware of his survival. So, it was pretty easy to explain away his existence with a security level access.
Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs Sept. 24 on ABC.
